SHARI BENSKI
Founder & Principal Audiologist
Shari Benski is the Founder and Principal Audiologist of FERATA.
For more than 15 years, her career has spanned diagnostic hearing assessment, complex hearing management, hearing device rehabilitation, clinical education and professional development.
A graduate of The University of Melbourne, Shari holds a Master of Clinical Audiology and a Bachelor of Science, with majors in Anatomy and Neuroscience.
A significant part of Shari’s career has been dedicated to audiology training and development, educating and mentoring both graduate and experienced audiologists across Australia. She also developed, taught and refined clinical protocols designed to improve the standard of practice and ultimately achieve better outcomes for clients.
Shari has also worked closely with GPs, ENTs and other healthcare professionals throughout her career, giving her a broader perspective on hearing health and its place within a person’s overall health, wellbeing and quality of life.
It was those experiences that shaped Shari’s understanding of what separates good hearing healthcare from an exceptional hearing healthcare experience.
Clinical expertise is fundamental. What elevates the experience is how thoughtfully that expertise is delivered.
Shari’s work has established a strong professional presence across Melbourne’s inner east, Bayside and CBD, including Toorak, Armadale, South Yarra, Malvern, Kew, Hawthorn, Canterbury, Albert Park and Brighton, with her work extending across Bayside and the Mornington Peninsula, including Sorrento and Portsea.
Based in Melbourne, Shari works with clients throughout metropolitan Melbourne, with regional Victorian and interstate appointments available by arrangement.
ThethinkingbehindFERATA
Throughout Shari’s career, one thing became increasingly clear.
Hearing technology was advancing rapidly, yet the way audiology was delivered had changed very little.
For most people, hearing healthcare still meant attending a traditional clinic or, where health or mobility made that difficult, receiving a mobile service at home. What was largely missing was a model designed for people who simply wanted a different experience: highly personalised, private, discreet, flexible and built around the way they actually live.
FERATA was created in response to that gap.
Not as a traditional clinic appointment delivered in a different location, but as a different model of private audiology altogether.
FERATA brings audiology into the environments where hearing actually matters. At home, in the workplace, at a Private Club or another location chosen by the client, appointments are shaped around the individual and the situations in which they need to hear well.
Clients work directly with the same experienced audiologist over time, creating continuity and allowing their hearing, priorities and changing needs to be understood in the context of their life.
Clinical expertise remains at the centre of every decision, while the experience itself is private, personal and entirely on the client’s terms.
Hearing healthcare should adapt to the client, not the other way around.
Themeaningbehindthename
FERATA takes its name from the via ferrata, protected routes through mountainous terrain that provide a clear way forward, supported by a defined path and an experienced guide.
The name also carries a personal connection for Shari, who enjoys climbing via ferrata routes and has completed several herself. She understands firsthand the confidence that comes from having the right equipment, a clear path and experienced guidance.
That philosophy reflects the way FERATA approaches hearing healthcare.
There is no single pathway that is right for everyone. The role of the audiologist is to understand the individual, bring clarity to each decision and provide the reassurance of being guided by someone with the depth of experience to know the terrain, anticipate what lies ahead and navigate the path with confidence.
A clear, considered path. With someone experienced beside you.
